I believe that using
Credit Cards causes people to not really treat an expense as seriously as if
they were spending cash,
which also might affect how a guest might treat taking care of the check-in, check-out, and cleaning checklists.
Dave Ramsey reports that if you use plastic instead of cash you
will spend 12–18% more than if you spent cash.

Spending with a credit card is much less of a personal commitment than spending cash (or a money order).
Using credit is a promise to honor a commitment _sometime_ in the future.
Using cash or a money order is honoring a commitment now.

Postal money orders are guaranteed if lost, inexpensive to purchase, and always have been honored by the bank or post office.
